Art project in Post-industrial area
We are two artists Ingrid and Caroline, interested by the question of how to live in a post-industrial space today, our friend Emilie comes with us in this trip. Indeed, the industrial city continues to exist in the memory of the inhabitants, as well as through traces and fragments that testify a bygone era . Simultaneously, this space is reinterpreted, reinvented and reused in the light of new practices and representations. We would like to meet the inhabitants of Bytom to tell them, in our own words, that a town, their town, has become for a short time and thanks to them, «our» town. This gripping town, though mistreated over the centuries and full of scars, carries with it an enormous potential for ecological conversion thanks in part to the presence of immense workers’ gardens in the heart of the urban fabric as well as many other resources in its urban and industrial wastelands. The social, environmental and aesthetic issues that emerge, fall within our research fields. We would like to develop a network blog about Bytom.
